An Award-Winning Facility for the Community

The Woodson Park Academy & YMCA project included a new 115,000 SF K-8 school, a 23,000 SF YMCA, and a 2,500 SF Community Wellness Clinic and Early Learning Center to benefit a historically under-served community in West Atlanta. After completion, the project received a First Place Build Georgia Award and a CMAA-SE Project Achievement Award.

Engaging and Inspiring the Local Community

The many challenges included extreme inclement weather, treacherous unknowns underground, a design that was over budget, and numerous unforeseen delays and hurdles. Through extensive preconstruction effort, creative project sequencing, and the hard work of our project team, Woodson Park is a glowing success for the Grove Park community. It was delivered on time, under budget, and with involvement and partnership with the local community.

The Carroll Daniel team was very positive throughout and focused customer service oriented. When confronted with a challenge, they were always quick to present solutions that were well thought-out and had the owner’s best interests in mind. They also were generous in addressing the reality of the project site being located in the heart of the Grove Park neighborhood and related resident concerns and were communicative and considerate in their operations of the surrounding area through the term of the project.
