A Rapid Renovation
Huddleston was the second elementary school built in Peachtree City, Georgia. Badly in need of renovation, Fayette County Schools contracted Carroll Daniel to perform a major renovation on an extremely tight schedule.
Project Scope
The scope of work included the removal and replacement of all flooring, ceilings, ductwork, light fixtures, data and fire alarms, windows, HVAC units, flat roofing, rooftop gas lines, the transformer, generator, switchgear and many new panels. It also included constructing new interior CMU walls, removing and replacing accent band of CMU along the perimeter of the building, installing a fire line onto the site with two hydrants, installing a sprinkler system in part of the building, and repainting everything – all over a single summer. The project was completed on time and on budget.
Exceeding Expectations
As a result of the above and beyond efforts of the Carroll Daniel project team to complete this extensive project on time and on budget, the Huddleston Elementary School Renovation Project received a First Place Alliant Build America Award.
