A native of Northern Virginia, Carroll settled in Gainesville, Georgia after his service with the U.S. Army during WWII. Starting the business from a small office in downtown Gainesville, Carroll built his company on a foundation of integrity and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. The reputation he developed allowed the business to quickly expand with a new headquarters, a growing staff of professionals and craftsmen, and projects throughout the Southeastern United States.

We built the observatory atop Georgia’s highest peak, Brasstown Bald Mountain, partnered with a growing base of industrial clients including Coca-Cola Bottling, Johnson u0026amp; Johnson and Georgia Power, and built the original Lanier Technical College campus in Oakwood, Georgia. Continued geographic growth allowed Carroll Daniel to open a second office near Orlando, Florida, where we built civic centers, office buildings and sports arenas, and even poured concrete for the NASA launch pads at Cape Canaveral. When our founder passed away in 1969, his son, Carroll “Ed” Daniel received early discharge from the U.S. Navy, and returned home at 23 years of age to take the reins of the family business.

Through the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, Ed expanded on his father’s legacy, building manufacturing facilities, schools, churches and medical facilities throughout Georgia and the surrounding states. In 1989, Carroll Daniel Construction won the inaugural Build Georgia Award for work on the Chateau Elan Winery and Resort in Braselton, Georgia. Ed passed away in 2003, and was recognized posthumously with the Georgia Associated General Contractors’ highest honor, the SIR Award for Skill, Integrity and Responsibility. Ed Daniel was known throughout the construction industry as a leader who practiced these values in everything he pursued.

We entered the new millennium at a crossroads, as Ed Daniel, the company’s president of thirty four years, passed away. After Ed’s death, Brian Daniel, at 28 years old, assumed leadership and became the third generation of the Daniel family to lead the company. Despite the Great Recession of the early 2000s, Carroll Daniel continued to grow and successfully established a name for ourselves as a premium builder in the markets we served. In 2017, the business expanded, opening an Atlanta office, and shortly thereafter opened a transportation construction office based out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This decade also saw a tremendous growth in workforce and team member development, as we started an official internship program, apprenticeship program and employee training program to build the next generation of workforce. We also leaned into our core value of stewardship and hosted our first ever Carroll Daniel Golf Classic in 2018, raising proceeds to local workforce development and nonprofit initiatives. 

Over the last five years, Carroll Daniel has entered into new markets, opening an office in Greenville, South Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; and Nashville, Tennessee. We expanded our engineering services and focused on our self perform capabilities, adding a division of both in-house concrete and in-house steel fabrication. The company grew our portfolio in food and beverage, cold storage and warehousing and through seaport and inland port projects. Despite the continued growth, we remain committed to our team of over 500 people and building opportunities for the future. 

Since we broke ground on our first project nearly 80 years ago, Carroll Daniel Construction Company has experienced continuous growth and change, yet we remain anchored by the core values we were founded on – Relationships, Integrity, Stewardship and Excellence. Our brand is built on the Carroll Daniel Way; this is the vision we pursue, the culture we embrace, and the process we apply in everything we do. And as we move toward the future, we look forward to building new opportunities – for our people, for our clients, and for the many communities we serve.
