Large Footprint, Larger Impact

The first phase of our client’s new carbon fiber facility in South Carolina is part of a $600 million planned investment to supply automotive operations in the United States. With the site covering over 200 acres, preparing the site involved extensive site development work to accommodate Phase 1 as well as planned expansions. In addition to the manufacturing facility, the site includes a separate power island that supplies electricity, steam, and gases for the production operation.

Project Details

Carroll Daniel Engineering provided initial design to develop an appropriation level cost, schedule, and project execution plan for the facility. With the facility plan approved, Carroll Daniel Engineering moved to detailed design and procurement. Overall project schedule duration from start of design through mechanical completion in late 2020 covered 27 months.

Digital Solutions for Streamlined Support

As part of its work, Carroll Daniel Engineering used an integrated technology approach that tracked equipment from initial specification through delivery and installation and provided a digital turnover package to our client to support facility operations and maintenance.
