Transforming the Forsyth County Juvenile Court
The Forsyth County Juvenile Court project involved the demolition of existing buildings and construction of a new 66,025 SF facility to house the county’s juvenile court – with new construction occurring while the existing court remained occupied. The new facility now features three levels, including unfinished shell space on the second level for future expansion. The building also includes two courtrooms, conference rooms, administrative offices, a sally port and holding areas. Thoughtfully designed, the courthouse incorporates natural elements and lighting to offer a calm ambiance.
Overcoming Challenges
Since construction began during the height of COVID-19 in 2020, the project team faced several challenges, ranging from extreme weather and material shortages to unforeseen delays and outside impacts. Each challenge was handled with a spirit of teamwork and a positive attitude by the project team. The goal was always top of mind and success was the only option.
