January 17, 2025
GAINESVILLE, GA. – Carroll Daniel Construction proudly joined Eskimo Cold Storage on Wednesday, January 15, for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of their new 225,000-square-foot freezer building located adjacent to Eskimo’s existing freezer facility on Athens Highway in Gainesville. This facility will support the growing cold chain needs of Eskimo’s existing and future clients, driving business growth for decades to come.
“Eskimo Cold Storage has been doing business here in this community since 2007,” said Tim Evans, President & CEO of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. “With the expansion of this new facility that Carroll Daniel has just completed, the Eskimo team continues to gain more business and have room to grow.”
Founders of Eskimo Cold Storage, Steve Williams, Karen Reece, David Lathem, and Jeff Reedy have been business partners for over 35 years.
“Our passion for warehousing began almost two decades ago, and as we expand, we remain dedicated to the freezer industry and our clients’ growing warehousing needs,” said Steve Williams, President of Eskimo Cold Storage.
Carroll Daniel Construction served as the design-build partner for the project and managed the project with a team from their Gainesville headquarters.
“Eskimo Cold Storage was extremely committed to building opportunities in Hall County throughout the course of this project—from utilizing Hall County subcontractors to creating local jobs with the opening of this new facility,” said Brian Daniel, President & CEO of Carroll Daniel Construction. “We recognize the essential role Eskimo plays in the growth and success of logistics, supply chain, and storage in our region, and we are proud to be a partner for them as they continue to expand.”
The new 66-foot-tall building features a two-part freezer system consisting of a 78,000 SF Push Back Rack (Freezer A) and a 96,000 SF Shuttle Rack (Freezer B), which will be a semi-automated system with the entire facility being held at zero degrees.
