With a proven track record delivering projects on schedule and to the highest quality standards, Hayley Isbell has built a reputation for excellence in K-12 construction. Hayley joined the Carroll Daniel Construction family in 2018 as an intern while finishing her last year at Kennesaw State University. Following graduation, she joined the team full-time as a Project Engineer.

Now a Project Manager, Hayley has successfully led the construction of athletic complexes, performing arts centers, ground-up schools, and more. One of her favorite projects has been Everwood Elementary School—a new PreK-5 facility for Hall County School District. “This project has taught me so much; challenging me to grow, not only as a project manager, but also as a teammate and mentor,” she says. “It’s rewarding to manage a ground-up build, but especially one that is bringing a new, state-of-the-art school to the same community I grew up in—you can’t beat that.”

In addition to honing her technical expertise, Hayley is dedicated to continuous growth, both personally and professionally. A graduate of Carroll Daniel Construction’s Emerging Leader Program—a development initiative designed to grow high potential individuals into strong leaders—she has gained invaluable skills that shape her approach to project management.

“Through the Emerging Leader Program, I learned essential communication, financial, and leadership skills that I now use every day,” she shares. “The program strengthened my abilities and reinforced the importance of mentorship and collaboration in building successful teams.”

Over the years, Hayley has had the opportunity to mentor students in the Carroll Daniel Internship Program. As a former intern, she understands first-hand the significance of gaining industry experience early on and of learning from skilled professionals. “During my internship and time as a Project Engineer, Britni Dyer (Senior Project Manager at Carroll Daniel Construction) has been my mentor,” Hayley shares. “Britni and the team I work with every day have been the greatest influence on my growth. Their support, collaboration, and commitment to excellence challenges me to continuously improve.”

As more women forge successful careers in the construction industry, mentorship and support play a crucial role in paving the way for future generations. Reflecting on her own career journey, Hayley encourages young women considering a career in construction to embrace the opportunity with confidence. “Go for it,” she emphasizes. “I was initially hesitant about pursuing a career in construction, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made.”

“Find a company that has strong women mentors that want to help the next generation of women in construction learn and grow.”

Looking ahead, Hayley is excited about the future of the industry. “Construction is constantly evolving,” she says. “The emergence of new technologies is shaping the future of K-12 projects, from innovations in preconstruction all the way to building completion.” As she advances in her career, Hayley remains devoted to shaping learning environments and building opportunities for students, communities, and the next generation of female leaders in construction for years to come.
